Christmas 2017
The boys at the Coventry Music Museum are about to issue a series of CDs to celebrate the local talent of the area. Instead of rehashing all the old hit records they have had the superb idea of using new material recorded in more recent years from succesful local artistes. Naturally Lieutenant Pigeon and Stavely Makepeace will both be featured. On the first of these CDs will be the Lieutenant Pigeon track, "The Boots of the Rosewood Brigade". This track has long been acclaimed by all Pigeon fans as the most original thing since "Mouldy Old Dough" so fingers crossed it gets the success it deserves. Click on this link for more information.

The Museum also hopes to dedicate tributes to the late Rod Felton and our own Hilda Woodward in the coming months. We've already sorted out some tracks Rod recorded in our studio back in 1971 so some of these will no doubt be used.

Hilda died in 1999 so we're less than 2 years away from the 20th anniversary of her passing. We will cooperate with any ideas the museum may have in marking this anniversary.

Many thanks to the many of you who have bought "A Big Red Set of Drawers". This novel idea of 'stab' singing seems to be catching on. The boys are now working on another track called "I want you want love". Watch this space!

Lastly Ruth Cherrington's book, "Dirty Stopout Guide to 1970s Coventry" is now on sales at all major book sellers. On November 9th she enjoyed a very successful book signing at Waterstones in Coventry. The book features many Coventry acts, including our own "Pigeon and Makepeace". Keep an eye open for this one. We wish her every sucess!

Have a happy and musical Xmas. The very best Bill B.

Autumn 2017
We've recently uncovered a video made to celebrate Rob's 50th birthday. It was all done on analogue in those days so some of the quality isn't awfully great but it does include some rare interviews with the boys and also shows where 'they were' at in 1995. So much has changed since then so it's a snapshot in time and shows how they saw their futures back then. Anyway, we've digitally remastered parts of it and intend releasing it on DVD exclusively to our regular fans.

It lasts about an hour and although the picture quality varies in parts we feel it would be a loss to posterity if we didn't make it available. Keep an eye on the Sales page for more details.

Also, keep an eye on the Newsletters as we hope to offer you another option for downloading music very soon. Watch this space!

More soon Bill.

Summer 2017 (2)
Something a bit special is on its way! Because Marathon now handle all our downloads the boys have decided it's time to release the occasional CD once again. Coming soon is a gem. One CD with two A sides. Not only that but one will be a Lieutenant Pigeon track and one a Stavely Makepeace track!! How's that for value. Keep you eyes on the sales page in a couple of weeks time.

The eagle eyed of you will have noticed that during the last year or so various videos have appeared on You Tube featuring the boys' work. The latest being a track to promote the Coventry Music Museum. This particular video has had more 'hits' than any of the others to date. Our thanks go to the enigmatic Ginger Simon for his tireless participation. Incidentally, his video featuring the Lieutenant Pigeon track "Fish 'n Chips" is in danger of going viral!

That's all for now folks! Bill

Lastly, does anyone know who David Whitehouse is? He's claimed on Wikepedia to have been Lieutenant Pigeon's manager and a long time friend of the group. I've asked both Rob and Nige and neither of them have ever heard of him? Does he even exist??

More again soon.
The very best Bill B.

Easter 2017
Earlier this year that magnificent band "HALF MAN HALF BISCUIT" from Birkenhead did a gig in Coventry. They came onto stage to our own "Mouldy Old Dough"! Luckily for us Richard Atkinson filmed the occasion and he was kind enough to send us a copy. By clicking on the band's name above you'll be able to see it for yourselves.

Anyway, happy Easter! Apologies for the delay in giving you the details of the new "Music Downloads" system. This is in hand and will, I hope, be rectified within the next few days. Watch this space!

Bill
